God is KING!
Psalm 47:6-7, “Sing praises to God our King, the ruler of all the earth!”

What are you the boss of? What do you have power over?
Joash was a king over Jerusalem. He was 7 years old.
Josiah was the king over all Israel from age 8.
Would you want to be a king or queen?
If you were the king or the queen, what would you do?
Many ordinary people want to be kings. Like Prince Hans of the Seven Isles.
Kings need to protect their power. They fear others coming and taking their throne.
Story Time!
Israel’s first ever king was like that. The Israelites wanted a person to be their king like the surrounding countries, so God chose King Saul for the role. Saul ended up loving power too much and turned out not to be a very good king.
What is God the ruler of? Earth?
Bible Passage: John 18:33-36
“Pilate then went back inside. He called Jesus over and asked, “Are you the king of the Jews?”
Jesus answered, “Are you asking this on your own or did someone tell you about me?”
“You know I’m not a Jew!” Pilate said. “Your own people and the chief priests brought you to me. What have you done?”
Jesus answered, “My kingdom doesn’t belong to this world. If it did, my followers would have fought to keep me from being handed over to the Jewish leaders. No, my kingdom doesn’t belong to this world.”
Bible Passage: John 19:19-22
“Pilate ordered the charge against Jesus to be written on a board and put above the cross. It read, “Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews.” The words were written in Hebrew, Latin, and Greek.
The place where Jesus was taken wasn’t far from the city, and many of the Jewish people read the charge against him. So the chief priests went to Pilate and said, “Why did you write that he is King of the Jews? You should have written, ‘He claimed to be King of the Jews.’”
But Pilate told them, “What is written will not be changed!”
God is the king over his kingdom in Heaven.
Anyone who believes in Jesus will go there when they die and it will be perfect.
WHO IS KING OF THIS EARTH NOW?
Bible Passage: 2 Corinthians 4:4
“The god who rules this world has blinded the minds of unbelievers.”
Our God wouldn’t do that so who is Paul talking about here? Satan.
Bible Passage: 1 John 5:19
“We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.”
WILL SATAN ALWAYS BE THE RULER?
I’ve read the end of the book and the answer is no!
Revelation 20 talks about how God will have a big war and finish all evil. It will all be destroyed. They will all assemble for battle and the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan who had deceived them will be thrown into the lake of fire and sulphur and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
We have hope that Satan won’t rule forever, and we know that he is only ruling now because God is letting him. But one day he will be finished and God will bring us all into his kingdom in Heaven.
