IDENTITY IN CHRIST: We Are Loved
This episode focuses entirely on God's love for us - God's unconditional love. How is it different from anyone else's love for us, how nothing can separate us from this love and how God's love affects who we are.
Join in for a game of true or false:
Your parents would stop loving you if you got cancer.
Your parents would stop loving you if you let the dog out and it got lost.
Your parents would stop loving you if you pushed your brother or sister off a bridge.
You went to jail.
So what is it that would stop your parents from loving you? Why do you parents love you? Why does Anna love her kids?
Ultimately, why does God love you?
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16
God loves us because we are his and he made us.
"I am sure that nothing can separate us from God’s love—not life or death, not angels or spirits, not the present or the future, and not powers above or powers below. Nothing in all creation can separate us from God’s love for us in Christ Jesus our Lord!” “Romans 8:28-29
A lot of people get this bit wrong and think they’ve done too many bad things to deserve God’s love. This is not right! NOTHING can separate us from God's love.
Think of a really bad person. Apostle Paul? Hitler? Does God love them?
Here are 4 awesome truths:
God’s love is unconditional.
We will never not be loved by God.
We can relax, knowing that there is nothing we can do to work our way into God’s favour.
We can feel secure, knowing that we will always have peace with God, no matter what we do in our lives.
